Now that the weather is warming up and getting so sunny and beautiful, we can pretty much say goodbye to winter (Yay!!). But before we do, let's look back at the gorgeous snow we got. Last year we had a pretty big snow storm at JMU and had an impromptu shoot with my roommates. It was an absolute blast, and I finally realized why people love to shoot in the snow. Look at that beautiful light! It also helps when you have beautiful friends and they're willing to freeze their booties off for some pictures.
A Wintry Shoot with Baking With Friends
So this year, my sister and I were very eagerly awaiting the first big snowfall so we could make some sweet treats and get some pictures for her blog.
And then it finally happened! We got a considerable amount of snow, and we quickly started browsing Pinterest for the perfect cake to make for our little shoot. We found an awesome recipe for a white cake covered in coconut. Although we had some technical difficulties during the process (that cake took forever to bake!), it was so much fun! And that's the whole idea behind Baking With Friends. It's a blog that celebrates baking as a process to be shared with loved ones. It's not about making it perfect, it's about having fun. And it always a great time. So head on over to her blog for the recipe, and enjoy some of the great photos we got!
Oh my goodness, we had so much fun! The cake was delicious, and really photogenic! We originally wanted it to be a naked cake, but we sliced it a little crooked, so we just frosted the whole thing. But seriously, it's like the perfect white cake recipe, and I think I'm going to have my sister bake it for my birthday!
We got ourselves ready and headed out to the backyard for the pictures. It was cold, but so beautiful! And the lighting was just so perfect. I'm pretty happy with how the pictures turned out, and I hope my pretty sister likes them too!
Thanks, sister, for being such a goofball and always letting me play and take pictures with you. Thanks for baking delicious things and having fun ideas for stuff like this. You're the best sister ever!
Welcome to the blog!
