Whether you've had professional photos taken before or not, preparing for your portrait session can feel like a daunting task. But don't worry! I've got you covered with my top 5 tips to prepare for your session!!
Choosing when & where you have your shoot makes a pretty big impact on your images. The BEST time of day for portraits is within an hour of sunrise or sunset, aka the Golden Hour. This sunlight is really warm and glowy and makes for some SUPER flattering light!
Your location should match your style and your outfits to create a cohesive atmosphere for your images. A location full of green grass and trees works best with soft flowing fabrics and casual looks. A urban downtown location works best with glamorous and trendy looks. Neutral colors and boho pieces work best in fields and open spaces.
Try to think of your personal style and describe it in a few words (classic, feminine, edgy, boho, preppy, etc) and share them with your photographer. You can even share pictures of the outfits you plan on wearing! This will help your photographer find the perfect location with the best light for your shoot that will create the look you want to achieve!
I hope this post is helpful! Let me know in the comments what other top 5 tips you'd like me to share in the future!!
