I've never participated in the whole pick-a-word-to-guide-your-year trend, and I am really excited to give it a shot. Those of you who read my previous post on why I am no longer sharing my monthly goals know that I am not the best goal-setter. I am working on improving, but I don't plan on sharing my goals publicly for a while.
The idea of simply choosing one word to motivate action and inspire change throughout a year is so wonderfully simple. If you haven't chosen a word yet for 2017, I recommend taking the time to do so!
In a beautifully honest article on HuffPo, life and business coach Stephanie Zamora shares her experience with choosing her guiding word the past few years, and some helpful tips on how to arrive at your word.
As she states in the article, you probably already KNOW what life you want to live (even if it's not completely clear in your mind). Deep down, you know what you want. Sometimes, it's just difficult to narrow it down from all the hustle & chaos that can live in our minds.
My word for 2017 is outspoken. Since I was little, I always struggled with putting my thoughts into words. So many conflicts in my life were rooted in the simple fact that I wasn't sharing what I thought or how I felt.
2017 is the year for me to develop real and honest communication skills, and stop hiding behind my politeness. I'm really looking forward to seeing where this year will take me.
